    Sport in the prep sector faces its own unique challenges. This webinar aims to address these, and is suitable for teachers leading sport in these schools as well as those who aspire to do so. With pressures for both inclusivity and competitive success, the Director of Sport faces significant challenges in compiling a programme to meet all expectations. Parents can be intrusive, and resources often limited. This course considers the practical issues faced by prep school sport, and presents possible strategies and solutions.

    • Tackle the challenge of fixture congestion and seasonal imbalance
    • Manage parental expectations and build positive relationships
    • Make the most of limited facilities, staff and curriculum time
    • Plan for continuity and transition into senior school sport
    • Support and develop generalist and specialist staff delivering sport
    • Use sport to promote character, confidence and leadership in pupils
    • Address gender balance and opportunities for all pupils
    • Ensure that the programme supports both early and late maturing pupils
    • Learn from case studies and good practice in other leading prep schools

    Chris has been Chair of PADSIS (The Professional Association of Directors of Sport in Independent Schools) since January 2024. He has over thirty years teaching experience, including Director of Sport posts at Pangbourne College, The Portsmouth Grammar School, Uppingham and Solihull.
