The landscape of school Rugby is changing. After several years in which the pressure on the game has grown, there is emerging an unprecedented climate of development, collaboration, consultation and support. As the recommendations of the Review of Schools’ Rugby are implemented, access to specific, practical support is constantly developing. The organisations which lead the game are working together as never before to address challenges, find answers and consider the issues which schools face.
This event will provide updates on recent changes, and clarity on future directions and initiatives. These include a reinvention of the schools’ direct governing body – England Rugby Schools (formerly ERFSU) – and re-consideration of the laws of the Age Grade Game. It will provide an opportunity for heads of Rugby to ensure they are aware of new directions, and able to exploit the possibilities offered by developments. They will be able to advise their own heads on the ways in which the game can be positive force in the school, and the methods by which emerging support can be accessed.
This Conference is presented in partnership with RFU, and includes contributions from some of its most senior staff. It also enjoys financial support, to enable a heavily discounted price, to make it accessible to more schools. It will also be held in the inspiring location of Twickenham’s pitchside conferencing facilities, reflecting the significance of the event for leaders of the game in all types of schools.
